John Adams | A Portrait of the Man Behind the Canvas

John Adams is a legendary South African artist, better known as “The Madiba Painter” and famous for raising half a million Rand for charity in 8 minutes at the inaugural AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction.

I have had the privilege to work with John on a number of occasions, including the Regent Highway Heroes campaign, for which we were both Brand Ambassadors. But when I first met John, I just knew that I had to capture the man who paints such eye-catching portraits, and tell his story through my lens.

This is my third portrait photo session for John, and I am overjoyed to be the proud owner of an original John Adams painting in return!

John has also posed for my Water Series, but you’ll need to wait a while longer to see that…

Special thanks to Mitch van den Bos from Bosheuwel Country Estate for providing the perfect location for John’s photo shoot.

These portraits are stunningly beautiful. And John’s arms! Just shows what picking up heavy paint brushes can do for one’s physique!

Hahaha! I think he picks up heavier items than paint brushes to get those arms!!
