In situ Portraiture with Camille Uzak

When my friends Chris and Camille decided to move to Hong Kong, I decided to set up a collaborative portrait shoot so that Cam’s beauty would be immortalised and we’d have a bit of our friend here forever.

This project resulted from the seamless integration of the sum of all its parts: Chris Rudolph art directed the shoot, Angie van der Berg did the make-up, Adrian Furstenburg provided some of the wardrobe items and assisted with the styling, Neil van Schalkwyk and Gavin Goodman popped by to assist with the lighting and shoot some behind the scenes footage, and I did the photography and post production.

Cam’s petite and unique features resulted in some powerful imagery, and her bubbly personality and enthusiasm made photographing her such a pleasure.

Thank you to everyone who made this shoot possible!

I’m delighted to mention that this image was first published in Elle Decoration.

This was my favourite image from the day…

Hi Rikki

I hope you are well. I’m currently working with a beauty brand on their rebranding and as part of the process they require a photographic style guide and library. Is this something you could assist with?

If you are interested please email me so we can arrange a time to meet, if not could you recommend a photographer who would be suitable.
