Tutorial: How to Make Late Afternoon Photographs Look Warmer

Have you ever noticed the beautiful golden light during the late afternoon? Yet somehow, this translates to cold images with a slight blue tinge?

The good news is that there’s nothing wrong with your camera. All you need to do is change your White Balance Setting.

The Auto White Balance Setting will usually obtain the correct white balance, but when it fails to do so, you need to select the white balance for the light source you’re working with.

Use the ‘Cloudy’ Setting for overcast days, late afternoon, or twilight.

These are stunning, warm and dreamy.

Thanks Julian, I think the warmer images epitomise the heat and sun of Africa…
