Lifestyle Interior Photography Tip: Clear out the Clutter!

When photographing interiors, spend some time before pressing the shutter, to clear out the clutter in the room.

This kitchen looks so beautiful and minimalist, but it was not like that when I arrived at the shoot! I cleared out all the disorder, removed kids’ drawings from the walls, and chose props and flowers to complete the scene.

Etiquette Tip: When photographing someone’s home and you need to move things around to get that perfect shot, take a mental snapshot before you start styling the room, and make a point to put EVERYTHING back where you found it!

I wish you could come and clear some of the clutter in my kitchen – and I wouldn’t mind if you didn’t put it back!
