The PowerSnoot is a chrome-plated long snoot with a honeycomb grid that allows you to achieve dramatic studio lighting effects using your flash.
The PowerSnoot is the complete opposite of the Lightsphere. Instead of filling the room with light, the PowerSnoot gives more directional control, and produces spectacular theatrical lighting.
When used off camera, the PowerSnoot is a lightweight and cable free alternative to traditional cumbersome studio lighting equipment.
When used on camera, the PowerSnoot gives you loads of power (an additional 2 stops) to light a subject at a distance, and get a hot spot light effect.
The spot light effect enables you to light your subject better and give you control over the background light, even on a bright sunny day. Additionally, by changing the aperture, you can make the sunny day, look like evening.
This specialised accessory is perfect for selective lighting of any subject matter.
Due to the intensified directional lighting, you can also use the PowerSnoot for sport or wildlife photography with a telephoto lens.
Product Specs
• Lightweight durable chrome-plated plastic
• 7.8 x 6.5 x 4.8 inches
The suggested retail price is R799, making it a cheap alternative to the studio equipment equivalent. I recommend this product for any photographer who is looking to expand their lighting set up on a budget.
