Photographing bubbles can be tricky, but here are a few pointers to help you get it right first time:
1. Use a macro lens, otherwise your bubbles will be teeny tiny
2. Set up your camera on a tripod – trying to focus on moving bubbles does not bring joy especially when using a macro lens!
3. Use a fast shutter speed to freeze any moving bubbles, and shallow depth of field to blur out the background
4. Use carbonated liquid as your bubble making machine
5. Use a dirty glass for the liquid – the microscopic dust particles help make the bubbles stick to the sides of the glass
6. Experiment with different coloured liquids, dyes and background colours
7. Afterward drink a glass of champagne to celebrate your bubble success!

I think I shall drink a glass of champagne after work to celebrate the successful impact of your bubble tutorial on my senses ;-)

I have a bottle of bubbly with your name on it, let me know when you’re next in the neighbourhood! xx
