About Rikki Hibbert

For me, photography is about capturing a transient moment in time and space and preserving it as a small piece of history creating timelessness in the now. It is about inspiration, and inspiring others to look deeper and see more. It is light and dark, colour and shadows; it is an unwritten poem that manifests as imagery in the mind’s eye…
And this is my passion, it is what I do…

My love for photography started when I was 11, and at 16, when I won the Best Photographer Award at The Royal Show and was a finalist in the Black & White photography competition in Camera & Image Magazine, I was inspired to pursue a career in photography.

I completed my four year degree in Photography cum laude in 2003, and have been working as a commercial photographer for the past 10 years servicing local and international clients.

I have won several awards at the Sony Profoto Awards, Fuji Film Professional Awards and was a semi-finalist in the African Photographic Awards. This blog was rated runner up Best Photography Blog in 2011, 2013 and 2015 at the SA Blog Awards.
