This past weekend I went to Cape Town for the SA Blog Awards, sadly I didn’t win, but I was a runner up and still got to enjoy a weekend in the beautiful Mother City with some of my favourite friends, and in particular – Wayne & Jo, who are expecting their first child, Jesse James.
We decided to go for an urban vibe for the Maternity shoot, and took the indoor photos in our hotel room in Long Street, and the outdoor photos at the Hout Bay harbour. Wardrobe was kept simple, so that when Jesse is 16 he isn’t horrified at what Mom and Dad were wearing for the shoot ;-)
Wishing Wayne and Jo the very best for the arrival of their son!
Here are a few of my favourite photos…

Thanks so much or this awesome shoot. You not only had my mom in tears, but I felt a bit emotional looking at my son’s shoes in front of mine…I can only hope that the footprints I leave behind will make him proud of walking in his dad’s shoes. You have a gift of capturing precious moments that will last forever and it’s a blessing to have had you in Cape Town and being able to do the shoot. So thanks to the bloggers out there for inviting you! keep it real.
It was only a pleasure my dear friend! Jesse has two wonderful parents to look forward to meeting in the very near future, as well as a life filled with love, fun, friendship, laughter, and hopefully no mashed pumpkin ;-)
And here is the photographer’s mom with tears on her eyelashes, blinking away… Jo and Wayne, I wish you two a lifetime of happiness with your son. May he grow to be just like his dad. I hope you both have the same kind of closeness with Jesse James that Rikki and I share. xxx
PS: Are you SURE there aren’t twins in there?
Ha ha! I think Jo must be wondering the same thing (about twins), still around a month and a half to go!
Wow – it’s stunning! Once again you captured it beautifully, Riks!
Thanks Jani! Can’t wait to do your preggy shoot one day ;-)
Thanks Wayne and Jo for taking such good care of us in CT!
Wow, these came out really great.!
