For the past few weeks, we’ve been hosting very special friends from South America, Nic and… Nic! As part of their “Welcome to South Africa” package, we organised a road trip to Swaziland to show them “the real Africa”.
This was also a great opportunity to get out of the city (which is a hive of activity with the 2010 World Cup Soccer celebrations), discover new places, and get some new textures for my Texture Library.
The weekend was jam-packed with activities and sight-seeing, with photo expeditions squished in between. Here are a few of my scapes with new Swazi textures, some of them… admittedly… taken from the car window while traveling 120km/hour! (Thank goodness for fast shutter speeds!)
The rest of the images from the weekend can be viewed on Facebook.
More of my travel and landscape photography can be viewed here.

Most impressive. I love the textures that you’ve introduced into these photos.
Thanks! I’m going for a more “fine art” feel to my work. The scratchy texture creates a more vintage feel.
Definitely!
Very nice contrasts…. makes me long for someone or something…
Thanks L’zeri! Nostalgia… that’s the emotion I was going for!
Fantastic range of landscapes. Brilliant photography!
Thanks Julian! With beautiful Swaziland surroundings, it’s not hard to take a pretty landscape photo ;-)
Love it, it seems you were inspired in Swaziland… I recently went there with a photographer friend my self. I have to admit, it was most inspiring. You are so talented dude.
Lol, Nic! These photos were from that trip we took to Swaziland together ;-)
